Subject:tracey moffatt icons
Time:04:49 pm
Hello! I've noticed not much going on in this community, but it seems to be the only one around for Australian art. So, if anyone is interested, I made some icons of work by Tracey Moffatt who is my current favourite Australian artist.

Wire in the Blood x15
Spooks x15
Little Fish x30
Tracey Moffatt x20

( the rest at my journal )

In the endeavour of getting a discussion going, I'm also really interested to know who your favourite Australian artist is, and why?

Subject:Dr Sketchy's Comes To Perth!
Time:01:01 am
I hope this isn't inappropriate, but I wanted to let you know about a new journal created for Dr Sketchy's in Perth.

Dr Sketchy's Anti-Art School is where burlesque meets art, buys it a drink and takes it to bed.  This successful life drawing class is now in 50 cities across the world and now it's Perth's turn to join the craziness.

Dr Sketchy nights will be held at The Leederville where you can come and draw sexy burlesque girls and hunky boys as well as see performances by Perth's premier burlesque troupe, Sugar Blue Burlesque.

If you're interested, come and check out drsketchyperth or take a look at our website.  It's still under construction but has links to our MySpace and FaceBook pages.

Cheers!

Making connections through the exhibition theme and the use of mixed media Nexus exhibition presents site-specific work by emerging artists Stuart Burns, Jeremy Piert, Laura Wills and Karin Woithe.
The artists have been challenged by curator Heather Young to create work for a site-specific exhibition in the Nexus cabaret windows. Usually reserved for individual artists, the idea of a group exhibition in the cabaret windows is new to the gallery and creates the opportunity for each artist to develop a unique work for each window.
Curator Heather Young says she has been keen to see the four artists work together for the past two years. “I love their combination of styles and mediums. The location of the Nexus cabaret windows and the theme of ‘nexus’ will challenge us all.”
The mixed media installation aims to speak of the simplicity and complexity of the nexus between people, from the intimate to the personal, in a form that will be an engaging experience for viewers.
The exhibition accompanies the nexus themed members show in the Nexus Gallery.

nexus is just next to fowlers and just behind the mercury cinema in ADELAIDE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA

So I'm selling one of them.
Soft cover, perfect condition.

This is a really great book! If you haven't read it then I suggest you should!
